Maintaining high educational standards is a priority at St Anne's Fulshaw, but that single agenda is not our only aim. Of equal priority is the desire to nurture genuine learning in its broadest sense; empowering learners to take more control of their learning. They can do this by developing a better understanding of the learning process and their own strengths as life long learners.
At St Anne's Fulshaw we value an inclusive approach to school development and we recognise that children do not learn effectively unless they feel safe in a welcoming environment that values the individual. Inclusion is about improving educational achievement by actively shaping the school management, classroom teaching and learning environment to meet the diverse needs and abilities of all pupils. Inclusive education therefore is integral and underpins the "learn to learn" agenda.
Children need encouragement and order if they are to progress and develop. Activities are planned carefully and are matched to the individual ability of each child. Recording and assessment are daily occurrences to monitor closely the progress of each individual. Positive attitudes to work are fostered so that success will be experienced and, through achievement, confidence is naturally boosted and motivation is fuelled.
